Pragmatis
Platform Guide
From creating your account to your first cited legal analysis — every step of the Pragmatis Labs experience explained in full.
Go to pragmatislabs.com and click Sign Up. Enter your email and choose a password, or continue with Google. After email verification your account is immediately active — no waiting list required for beta users. Your beta status is confirmed from our records; once active you will see a BETA badge in the top-right of the navbar next to your name.
Tips
After signing in, your name appears in the top-right corner. Clicking it takes you to your profile page. The top navbar shows Platform (this overview) and About. The footer links to Guides, Request Demo, About, Careers, and Contact. The main product — The High Counsel — is accessed by clicking your name or navigating directly to /assistant.
Tips
The High Counsel is the primary research interface. The left sidebar has two tabs: Chat (the AI conversation) and Tasks (your Legal Vault and workflow agents). On first open you see the welcome screen — 'What is your Quest?'. Type any legal question in the input bar at the bottom and press Enter or click the send button.
Tips
Before showing you an answer, The High Counsel shows a Plan card. This card summarises what the AI understood from your query — typically showing Topic, Intent (e.g. Legal Research, Seeking Defense, Checking Compliance), Strategy (which databases and methods it will use), and any Clarification needed. Read it carefully. If it matches what you want, click 'Looks right'. If not, click 'Not quite' to refine.
Tips
After confirming the plan, the Answer card appears. It contains: a prose legal analysis synthesised from the retrieved case law and statutes; an expandable Analysis section showing the AI's step-by-step reasoning chain (textualism check → authority hierarchy → precedent review → conflict resolution → meta-analysis); and a Sources section at the bottom listing every cited authority with its level (Constitution, Statute, Case Law, Regulation).
Tips
Click 'New Chat' in the sidebar to start fresh. Or simply type a follow-up in the same conversation — The High Counsel maintains context across turns. If the answer missed something, click 'Not quite' on the Plan card (visible during the pending state) to redirect the query. For re-querying after confirmation, just start a new message describing the gap.
Tips
Switch to the Tasks tab in the sidebar. The Legal Vault section lets you browse and search the full case law database — spanning US federal and state courts, UK case law, and Indian courts. Use the search bar to filter by case name or citation. Use the All / US / UK / India buttons to filter by jurisdiction. Cases are paginated; use Prev/Next to navigate. The total count is shown in the header.
Tips
Below the Legal Vault in the Tasks tab you will see the Workflow Agents section. These are automated research pipelines that will handle specific tasks: Contract Review Agent (red-flag analysis), Due Diligence Agent (filing and case history research), Litigation Research Agent (precedent mapping), and a Compliance Monitor (real-time regulatory tracking). They are currently listed as Coming Soon and will be activated in upcoming releases.
Tips
Click your name in the top-right navbar to go to your profile page. From there you can update your display name, change your email or password, and manage notification preferences. Inside The High Counsel sidebar, the Settings link at the bottom also takes you to your profile page.
